The classic blue and white banded pottery of T.G.Green & Co’s Cornishware has been gracing British kitchen tables for over eight decades, and I'm delighted to offer Wee Birdy readers the chance to win a set of 8 'His and Hers' mugs (see above and below).
Each set of four mugs comes in a beautiful Cornishware box and can be ordered from the company’s new online gift service at www.tggreen.co.uk. Prices are £40 per set, with a total prize value of £80. The website features some great Cornishware present ideas, with the entire range of the distinctive blue and white kitchenware, from teapots to egg cups and cake stands to pudding bowls.
For your chance to win both sets of mugs, leave a comment below, telling me what your favourite piece of Cornishware is. The winner will be chosen using a random number generator. Entries close 6pm Thursday 4 February (GMT) and the winner will be announced on Friday 5 February. Please be sure to leave your email address below so I can contact you. Good luck!
UPDATE: This competition is now closed, thanks to all for entering!
These are SO pretty! I love the Cornishware bowls the most... they remind me of my mother's kitchen at home in Somerset (not quite Cornwall, but close enough!) x

I love the pudding basin. Reminds me of my nan.

Oh gosh now to pick a favourite piece is hard. My love for Cornish ware knows no bounds and these mugs are a marvellous modern update. I have 4 items from my dearly departed grandma, her marmalade jar, a pint jug and two storage jars surviving from the 40s or 50s. I think the marmalade pot with its cute top and the gap for the spoon is the winner xxx

Ooooh, what a wonderful prize! Cornishware takes me back to my Grandad's kitchen in a heartbeat. He had all sorts of bits & pieces, but my favourite has to be the pudding basin (especially when filled with tapioca pudding!)

Oooh, what a fantastic competition, I love Cornishware!
I am getting married to a Cornish man later this year and have started a collection of Cornishware for our home together. I have always admired the design and it is a lovely link back to his roots.
However, so far we only have the tea jar! My favourite pieces are the small sugar jar and milk jug which I would would love to get next.
A set of beautiful mugs would be a perfect addition x

These mugs are beautiful. I love Cornishware, but my absolute favourite pieces are the pudding bowls, they're so useful for serving, baking, and looking ornamental around the house. 2 of my mugs were broken by visiting children last weekend, so these would be super-gratefully received in my house!!
Posted by: mandy | February 01, 2010 at 11:10 AM
The graduated jug has got to be my favorite - practical and pretty all at the same time.
I tried fitting one in to my suitcase, when moving back home from England, but I had way too much stuff.
The mugs are great too, though - they will look good on the shelf with my Moomin ones from Arabia.

I love the milk jug and these mugs would go very well to make a lovely little tea set!

Oh, I posted a comment yesterday but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway: my favourite piece would be a traditional blue Cornishware milk jug, which never fails to remind me of childhood Sunday afternoons spent at our family friend Margaret's house, where we would be served with lavish amounts of tea (for the adults) and milk and cake (for me).

I think the pudding basin might be my favorite. It's a hard pick. I find the basin's to be the most classic—and they're really having a comeback—there's a lot of larger bowls mimicking that style now.
